baby steps, Liv style

So this happened yesterday.

18 months of physical therapy, two sets of orthotics, hundreds of hours of trying to get her sensory issues to abate enough to put weight on her feet.  All of it came together yesterday, for the first time.

She took her first steps yesterday. They were steps with help, but she did it.

Hope. It's so tenuous, so fleeting. so fragile, yet so persistent.

Just like my Livie. She's so fragile, yet so strong. So filled with determination and personality. This kid has changed my life, in the best way possible.

Days like this I'm thankful you share Liv's story with the rest of us. She's a little fireball of inspiration! And your words fit perfectly with her accomplishments. Happy Friday Momma!

She is amazing!! I could hear you sniffing in the video and I know it must have been so emotional. I have loved seeing Liv blossom over the past year. My prediction? She's going to be running circles around Maddie by the end of the year :)

Congrats Mama. You two are incredible.

I'm sitting in my office at work crying because of this video! Jess, she is amazing. I'm so proud of her and I dont even know her! Even as a mother myself, knowing a tiny bit of your story, I cant even imagine the JOY you felt when she walked based on the info the doctors gave you about your precious girl. She is a fighter and so so strong. I'm amazed!

Yup. that made me cry. She is trying so hard. I'm not her mamma but that made me so happy for you and her.

I've so looked forward to seeing a post like this and now I look forward to the day she walks unassisted! Tears were running down my face. Go Liv! I love how she watched her legs the whole time and the time she raised her knee up high. She gets it! And she's so determined!!

Tears are pouring down my cheeks. GO LIVIE! I loved that she was watching herself walk, almost like she was telling her feet to go.

You can TOTALLY see her staring at her legs, WILLING them to move. She knows what to do, she just needs to make that connection. She is so determined in this video as well! You know this wouldn't have been possible without your will and determination for her as well. Pat yourself on the back mama. You have been such an advocate for her and doing everything right.

I've been reading for a long time, but have never commented, but today, I had to.

THAT was amazing. Watching that video gave me chills down my arms and tears down my face...way to go Livie, and way to go YOU, for being her voice - without you, she wouldn't be where she is today! :o)

I'm a freaking blubbering mess. I'm sitting at my desk, just crying. When she took that step by herself, I lost it.

I just love Liv. She will never know just how many random people from all over the country are cheering for her (and were audibly coaxing her to walk while they were watching that video).
